Anita Ekberg
Anita Ekberg was a Swedish actress who was featured in numerous European as well as American films. Her most famous role is in the comedy drama "La Dolce Vita". In 1960, the film was awarded with the Golden Palm and an Oscar at the Cannes Film Festival. The film also achieved both critical and commercial success. Born in Skane, Sweden, she was a model before beginning her acting profession. Then she won the Miss Sweden contest. Then she moved to the US in the year 2000, where she began to appear in multiple movies playing minor role. The first time she had a role that was acknowledged by the director was in the film "Abbott & Costello Go to Mars", in which she was in the role of a Venusian guard. Following her appearance in the film 'Blood Alley in which she received the Golden Globe Award for 'Most promising young actor.' She appeared in several other films during her entire career. These include the American-Italian War Drama 'War and Peace,' the Western movie "Valerie" and the British Adventure Crime Film 'The Man Inside The Man Inside,' as well as the French and Italian thriller The Dam on the Yellow River. She died in 2015 when she was 83 years old.
