Charissa Thompson
Thompson was fired from FOX Sports in 2010 and did double duty hosting both Versus as well as Yahoo Sports. She anchored Versus' NHL studio coverage as well as recorded web-based videos on the popular Yahoo platform. She was also responsible for the site's presence at high-profile events, including those of the 2010 Winter Olympics, FIFA World Cup, Super Bowl XLV and the BCS National Championship. She was a successful host across both of these areas. This led her to join ESPN in August of 2011. In that capacity, she was the host of the brand new program in the afternoon called "Numbers Never Lie" which was a show on the network. In July 2012, she transitioned to the show that became known as "SportsNation," enjoying a successful run that lasted until she left ESPN to return to Los Angeles for the launch of FS1 in May of 2013. Thompson is a passionate sports fan, but she has shown the flexibility needed to be able to work in entertainment. She was hired as a co-host on the Hollywood Newsmagazine "Extra" on June 2014 after a variety of temporary jobs. In this capacity the magazine filmed its episodes at Universal Studios while also staffing awards shows and other celebrity events on a regular basis.
